Emergency Vehicle Alert
TARGET BLU EYE EMERGENCY SERVICES DETECTION
The Target Blu Eye 2 is the world’s most advanced and legal driver-safety system. It detects the presence of all emergency service vehicles- including marked and unmarked police cars, ambulances and fire engines – by scanning the TETRA radio network.
Whether an emergency vehicle is responding to a call with lights and sirens, or simply patrolling, the Blu Eye alerts you up to 1 kilometre away allowing you to react calmly and safely.
how does the System work?
Target Blu Eye Alert System warns of any radioactivity from emergency vehicles alerting a driver to the presence of Ambulance, Fire Engine or Police cars.
Step 1 – Detecting emergency radio activity
Every few seconds police cars, ambulances, fire engines and other emergency services transmit secure digital signals over the TETRA network. Both unmarked and marked vehicles continuously broadcast this activity.
Step 2 – Instant, clear alerts
The system continuously scans the network for the unique activity butsts. The Blu Eye 2 technology recongises these instantly (without decoding or listening to the message). There are two ways it will notify you:
- Visual – LED indicators in the mirror
- Audio – Tone that increases with proximity (volume and mute available)
Step 3 – Safer and calmer driving
When an emergency vehicle is within range (up to 1km around your car). Blu Eye gives a clear visual and audible alert. This gives you time to anticipate, move aside and let emergency responders do their job safely.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is it Legal?
Yes, the use of Target Blu-Eye is legal since the system is only informing the driver whether an emergency service vehicle is nearby.
Moreover, Target Blu-Eye cannot differentiate between police vehicles, ambulances or fire engines.
You will be warned of all types of emergency vehicles in the same way.
We would like to emphasise that Target Blu-Eye is not able to decode the radio messages broadcasted by the Airwave network.
Will it detect unmarked police cars?
Yes. As long as the vehicle’s radio is switched on (which it is for 99% of patrols), the Blu Eye 2 will detect it.
Will it work abroad?
The system works throughout most of Europe (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, etc.) where the TETRA network is the standard for emergency services.
