Mercedes audio upgrades 

Although Mercedes’ offer comfort, performance and technology in one high class package, the manufacturers seem lost when it comes to audio.

The factory system is flat and lifeless, but there are a number of ways we can improve it.

Stage 1 – upgrade the speakers

The Burmeister speakers in the Mercedes are much improved by the Eton Component after market speakers that we provide. These higher-quality speakers are £500 for the pair. They provide you with the clarity and punch that is missing on the factory set up.

The Eton rear shelf mounted replacement coaxial speakers also help to lift the Mercedes sound to new heights. Again, installed on the original system these are an exceptional upgrade – however, if you want to make the most of them, an amplifier will give you an incredible sound experience. These upgraded speakers are £300 for the pair.

As well as upgrading the speakers, we would recommend adding some sound deadening. We offer 3 stage acoustic sound deadening but can work to your budget. We use a variety of Skinz sheets, panel liners and wave diffusers to completely sound deaden the vehicle.

Stage 2 – add an amplifier

We would recommend adding an Audison Prima 8.9 amplifier for more volume and better control of the speakers. An amplifier helps to add definition to your music allowing you to pick out individual sounds that you would not have heard when using the factory set up.

The Audison Prima 8.9 is extremely compact and versatile. It offers fabulous sound enhancement for multi speaker amplified factory car audio systems. Distortion often rapidly increases to unpleasant levels when the volume is turned up high on a factory system. The Audison Prima amplifier allows clean signal handling of eight class D channels and the incredible signal processing power overcomes many of the stock issues.

Stage 3 – add an 8” subwoofer

These Audison Prima OEM 8” woofers drop straight into the foot well mounting positions offering superior sound with vastly improved bass response.  Adding a sub to a sound system can improve it by up to 45%.  

This Mercedes Audio upgrade can be installed in stages or all at the same time, suitable for the C class, S class and E class.

Stage 4 – custom built sub installed in the boot

Using a custom made sub box for the Mercedes rear boot section we are able to install a Hertz Mille Legend 10” sub. This has been specially developed to overcome usual mechanical causes of dynamic compression and the result is an open and highly accurate sub bass driver. The sub alone is £700, plus the box, wiring, amp and installation. Please let us know if you would like a quote for your vehicle.
